Biography

Turl is one of Northern Ireland's most promising and talented young dance music producers. After a three-year stint in Southampton, the quality of Turl's tracks have reached another level with a degree in music improving his production skills while also helping him to evolve his own sound. His style has developed further into electronic music, seizing influences from techno, progressive-house and tech-house.

Turl's debut release came in late 2009 on the impressive new German label Shabulized. The EP featured the tracks 'Orb', 'Backup' and 'Rapid Dawn' and quickly found its way into the hands of some of the worlds most respected DJs, gaining support from Hernan Cattaneo and Miss Nine. Turl's production skills have also caught the eye of Future Music, "the tension is almost palpable" were the comments on Turl's track 'To the Distant' when it featured in a recent issue of the popular magazine.

As well as producing, Turl has been taking his distinctive sound to the dance floor, holding a residency at Rhino and playing alongside DJs like Yousef. He was recently placed first in the Bacardi South Coast DJ competition, hosted at Junk Club, Southampton. The next year is sure to be a busy one, with more tracks in the pipeline for release, Turl is set to push his sound as far as possible.
